I’ve been listening to a few interviews on the Zane Lowe show recently. Every now and then I need to listen to what those who have succeeded have to say about how their journey.
So it’s not word for word, but this is how I remember something Beck said toward the end of the interview:
“Just make your own world, just ignore everything else, indulge yourself in everything you love. Don’t ask for permission, don’t wait for someone to tell you what’s cool. Just make your own thing, even if just for your five friends. Write about your world, make things for your world.
I think that’s where all the great art comes from.”
